Well, life has been not really boring but nothing out of the ordinary or exciting lately. Hence, no posting to the blog. But here we go….Christmas is coming and things get exciting!!!!
This week we started our Christmas celebration in our department at work. Our Christmas party is a surprise to all the staff, but I get to know EVERYTHING!!! And to build up to the fantastic event we are doing a 12 days till the Christmas party countdown. I made everyone in the department festive envelopes and every morning they have to check their mail, and there is a surprise or game for them to do each day. They get to win points and prizes…. All leading up to winning the GRAND PRIZE at the party! And it is a sweet prize. It has been so much fun watching everyone come into the office all excited to see what’s in their envelope. They are like a bunch of kids on Christmas morning. And they haven’t even seen the really fun stuff yet!!!!! Oh it’s great!
I think the most exciting thing on the go right now is with my nephews, it’s like an early Christmas present. Next Wednesday, November 29th, they get to go and play hockey with the CANUCKS!!! I am so excited, I have been given the afternoon off of work so I can see their faces as they skate on GM ice, with some of the CANUCKS!!! They get a tour of GM Place and then some ice time with the coaches and some team members. We have no idea which Canucks will actually be there but who cares, it’s still a thrill for Stephen and Caleb to get to skate with real professional hockey players. I can’t wait to see their faces and share the excitement with them, I am so thankful for getting the afternoon off of work to go. YEAH!
I’m also preparing for our Christmas program at church. For those of you that don’t know I work with a youth group at a small Spanish church in Surrey. And as a group we get to do something in the Christmas Program. So Hermana Lillian had a great skit for us to do, and I get to be CINDERELLA! How fun is that!!!! It’s a short skit with Cinderella, Snow White, Little Red Riding Hood, Aladdin, Pinocchio and Santa. And yes it all ties into the birth of Jesus. I only have a few lines which is good because I have to learn them in Spanish!!!! I also get to be in a short skit about the birth of Jesus and for that one I will be playing Mary, thankfully no lines to remember. Our Christmas service is in just a few weeks on December 23rd. Everyone is more than welcome to come….. however the service is in Spanish, I can translate when not on stage.
That’s about all the excitement these days. Will keep you posted after our amazing afternoon with the Vancouver Canucks!!!!!!
Navidad esta aqui!
Bueno, no habia muchas cosas interesantes pasando en mi vida este dias, eso es porque no estuve escribiendo por mi blog. Pero ahora es Navidad, y con Navidad vida esta muy ocupado y apasionante!
Esta semana comenzemos nuestro celebracion de Navidad en mi departamento de mi trabajo. Este ano la fiesta va a estar una sopresa, nadie sabe que vamos a hacer, pero Yo se de TODO! Y estamos haciendo una cuenta atras de 12 dias hasta la fiesta! Yo hice sobres bonitos para cada persona y cada manana tienen que mirar por su sopresa, hay juegos y sopresas cada manana. Y cada dia pueden ganar puntos por el premio grande que vamos a presentar en la fiesta. Y el premio esta buenisimo!!! Es muy divertido a mirar mis companeros cada manana mirando que recibieron en sus sobres. Estan como los ninos en la manana de Navidad. Todos estan muy felices y piensen que este esta muy divertido.
Pienso que la cosa mas emocionante que esta pasando ahorita va a pasar el proximo miercoles el 29 de dicembre. Mis sobrinos van a jugar hockey con los Vancouver Canucks, este es el equipo profesional de hockey de nuestro cuidad! Asi este es un evento tan grande!!!! Especialmente por dos ninos enamorados con hockey! Este es como si tuviste la oportunidad a jugar futbol con el equipo national de tu pais. Y yo tengo el tarde libre de mi trabajo asi puedo estar con ellos a mirar sus caras cuando entran el hielo con los jugadores profesionales. Es tan emocionante para todo de nosotros. Casi no lo creo.
Tambien estoy preperando por nuestro programa de Navidad a mi iglesia. Creo que todos saben que trabajo con un grupo de jovenes de una iglesia espanol aqui. Y como un grupo vamos a hacer un sketch para Navidad. Una hermana de la iglesia me ayudo a consiguir un sketch y voy a estar CENICIENTA!!! Cual chica no quiere estar Cenicienta!!! Que divertido! Esta drama tiene Santa, Aladino, Pinocho, Blanca Nieves, Cenicienta y Caperucita pero lo ensenanos del nacimiento de Jesus. Estoy feliz que lo esta corto porque tengo que aprender las lineas en espanol. Tambien estoy en un otro sketch del nacimiento de Jesus y voy a estar Maria por esto. Asi solo tenemos algunos semanas para practicar y aprender los sketchs. Navidad esta tan cerca! Eso es todo ahorita, la semana proxima puedo escribir de nuestro tiempo con los Canucks!!!!!
